About the Event:
- Enabling Edge-Cloud Applications with Decentralized Technologies
Edge-cloud applications have emerged as pivotal components in addressing the evolving landscape of technological advancements, such as smart city infrastructure, mobility solutions, and augmented and immersive realities. These applications play a critical role in bridging the gap between localized data processing and the broader cloud ecosystem, enhancing efficiency and responsiveness. However, the dynamic nature of edge-cloud systems poses significant challenges. Coordinating operations across numerous edge nodes, characterized by sporadic availability and potential security vulnerabilities, presents a significant hurdle. These complexities require innovative solutions to ensure seamless operation and safeguard data integrity. In this talk, we present decentralized technologies and their potential to surmount these challenges. By embracing decentralization, we unlock avenues to address coordination issues, security concerns, and scalability barriers inherent to edge-cloud environments. Our exploration extends to various domains, including mobility, video analytics, and machine learning, where decentralization plays a pivotal role in fostering robust and efficient edge-cloud applications.
