Telecom SIG

Introduction and Scope

Description

The Hyperledger Telecom Special Interest Group is focused on technical and business-level conversations about appropriate use cases for blockchain technology in the Telecom industry.

Hyperledger Telcom Special Interest Group
Hyperledger Telcom Special Interest Group

The Telecom industry today has a complex operations framework, involving many vendors, integrators, network operators, and service providers. There are many trust issues and transparency challenges due to the involvement of multiple entities, and no clear mechanism to track end-to-end activities of every entity. Blockchain can address many issues in Telecom with its decentralized and distributed ledger technology, with trustless operability, that is immutable and auditable.

Take a look at the Telecom SIG reading list for more background information and context about what this group is focused on.  And watch this short video for more information about the group and how to get involved.

Main Group and Sub-Groups

The work of the Special Interest Group is divided into sub-groups that are exploring specific use cases and a main group that oversees all of the activities.  Feel free to join a sub-group to dive into the details or a use case or join the main group to get a high-level overview of all activities.
