Meeting Overview
This meeting is a continuation of Erik Valiquette’s presentation from May 14th regarding Walmart Canada’s freight invoice reconciliation and payment blockchain use-case. Shannon Hamilton from DLT Labs will be presenting. Shannon’s career has spanned more than 20 years, leading teams in operations and sales across financial services, retail and technology. She has firsthand experience tackling significant process improvement goals in large organizations such as American Express, as well developing and evolving operational efficiencies in fast growing startups. She has taken a progressive approach to understanding how blockchain technology will improve supply chains and is currently engaged in numerous workflow optimization projects in North America.
The benefits of this blockchain implementation include the elimination of intensive paperwork and lengthy fact checking missions. Invoices are generated with auto-approval and can begin the payment cycle immediately, virtually eliminating invoice disputes. Information is stored centrally on the DLT Labs platform and shared between Walmart Canada and their 60 third party carriers. Now all parties know about everything from fuel surcharges to GPS data, from delivery time to how many temperature checks were performed during transport.
