LFDT European Chapter Meeting Minutes

Present were also representatives from Espeo Software, Howest, Evernym/DSR Corporation, and Jon Bauer, with Renata set as the next meeting facilitator.
1. Opening (5 minutes)
The meeting commenced with a warm welcome to all participants.
An overview of the agenda was provided.
A brief update on recent activities and progress within the chapter was shared.
2. Newcomers (5 minutes)
Introductions:
– Stanislav Yanich from Bulgaria, representing the PAN Blockchain Association. (The association is recognised as Bulgaria’s first blockchain NGO with an extensive consortia network.)
– Alexander Pehlivanov from the PANBox association.A concise overview of the chapter’s mission and current initiatives was delivered.
3. New Projects Planned / Launched / Delivered (15 minutes)
Updates by Daniel Szego:
On-site Meetups:
• Planning meetups in Vienna and Budapest.
• Tentatively scheduled for autumn 2025.Zero-Knowledge Programming Learning Group:
• The learning group on zero-knowledge programming has already been initiated.
• Hosted on Discord (see Discord Channel).
• Operates with a global focus, not limited to Europe.
Espeo Software:
Currently developing a project utilising Hyperledger Fabric for the secure storage of ESG data.
An invitation was extended to share further project details in the coming month.
A related resource was shared via the On The Block YouTube playlist.
Howest:
Presented the Horizon 20/20 project on carbon capture tokenisation, due to start in May. This initiative is being led by Wageningen University & Research in conjunction with Cafamore.
Reported on a Flanders event dedicated to Digital Product Passports (further details at Always On Track).
Proposed a research project focusing on Digital Product Passports and Verifiable Credentials.
Discussed the idea of organising a meetup on Digital Identity.
It was mentioned that Shane has invited Renata to speak at LFDT Belgium, and that additional insights on Paladyn were shared.
DSR Corporation:
Introduced progress on an EBSI alternative on Besu (currently in MVP stage; details available on GitHub).
Provided updates on a new Hedera Ledger and upcoming pluggable products designed to integrate within larger systems.
Announced plans for a Hedera event.
PAN Blockchain Association:
The organisation was highlighted with a reference to its website (panblocks.com).
Jon Bauer:
Provided updates on the Indentus Project (including the VDR Layer; see GitHub repository).
Highlighted progress on cSign and shared details of the IIW California demo, with further information accessible via the Internet Identity Workshop.
Additional Discussion:
Key project achievements and milestones were celebrated.
Opportunities for further collaboration were explored.
It was agreed that Renata will facilitate the next meeting.
4. Planned Events & Meetups / Speaking Opportunities (20 minutes)
Announcements were made regarding upcoming events and conferences.
Various opportunities were identified for members to present, contribute to initiatives, and participate in event organisation.
Volunteer needs and collaboration topics associated with these events were discussed.
5. Open Discussion (10 minutes)
The floor was opened for additional topics, feedback, and brainstorming, however, none was mentioned.
6. Closing (5 minutes)
The meeting concluded with arrangements for scheduling the next session 23.04.2025 and outlining follow-up actions.
