Mentee News

Dear LF Decentralized Trust Mentees (cc mentors),

Congratulations on being selected to participate in this year's LF Decentralized Mentorship Program! We're very excited to welcome you to the LF Decentralized Trust open source community and working with your mentors to guide your participation in and contributions to your mentorship project as well as to the broader open source community.

We will be conducting an orientation/onboarding session on Tuesday, June 17, 13:00-14:00 UTC. I will be sending out a calendar invite to you all shortly and this session is mandatory for new mentees so please make plans to attend. Tentative agenda for the orientation includes the following:

  • Welcome and LF Decentralized Trust foundation overview (Daniela Barbosa, Executive Director)

  • Open source contribution best practices (David Boswell, Senior Director, Community Architect)

  • Program logistics and general expectations (Min Yu, Program Manager)

  • Perspectives and tips from mentors (mentorship ambassador TBD)

In the meantime, I encourage you to proactively reach out to your mentors if you haven't already, get to know them a bit better, and ask if there are any initial documentation or training tutorials that you can review to get yourself ready to contribute.

Please review our program schedule to help with your planning.

Again, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you all. I look forward to learning about your growth as an open source contributor.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to me or to mentorship@lfdecentralizedtrust.org if you have any questions in the meantime.

Kind regards,
Min
