Besu maintainers have written about the performance improvements they made this year, including substantial improvements to ensure Besu can handle the most demanding workloads, enhancing benchmarking framework to accurately reproduce and validate fixes for critical edge cases, and boosting sync performance to help nodes reach the head of the chain faster.
Noteworthy Pull Requests
Web3j recently released version 5.0 and presented about it at a meetup last week. This release includes work from mentees who took part in this year’s Linux Foundation mentorship program. One of the mentees wrote about some of what they’ve been doing in a blog post about integration tips for web3j-maven-plugin in Java projects.

Daniel Szegö has written about an in person community event he organized as part of Budapest Blockchain Week and about the monthly Zero Knowledge Learning Group series he has been hosting online. He is running the last ZK Learning Group call of the year on Monday, Dec 15 at 9AM Pacific and will give a wrap-up of everything the group has covered.
