As a special interest group(SIG), we continue to search for carbon action and accounting topics to explore impactful ways to engage and expand our knowledge,
From a previous discussion, there are a few categories based on work in our SIG over the past few years. Please feel free to add more as you see fit. Furthermore, our SIG will also focus on developing forward-thinking ideas for solutions applicable to global carbon accounting.
Expert Presentations: Inviting climate or carbon accounting experts to share insights on the current state of global GHG emission policies and trends.
Technical Presentations: Exploring advanced topics such as:
The best Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) platforms for climate applications.
How climate data can be stored as immutable blockchain transactions.
Solutions for managing and storing large volumes of GHG emission IoT data.
Can LFDT blockchain platforms solve challenges with collecting Scope 3 emission data?
Projects (Listed in Linux Foundation "Labs")
Brainstorming technical projects, such as creating a solution to more easily capture Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
The Net-Zero Digital Twin project has been entered as a Linux Lab.
Identifying opportunities for mentorship or lab-based collaboration on these projects. The Net-Zero Digital Twin has been placed into the mentorship program as a candidate. As of April1st we continue to anticipate if the project will be in this program.
Publications: Collaborating with climate experts to produce publications that can contribute to the broader conversation on GHG emissions and sustainable solutions.
Your input and creativity are crucial to shaping our upcoming activities! If you have ideas or know experts who could contribute, please share your thoughts in our SIG meeting.
Looking forward to your suggestions. Let’s make a meaningful impact together!
Best regards,
