The GBA hosts a meeting on the 4th Tuesday of every month to educate people about:

  • How blockchain could benefit artists and entertainers by exploring:
  • How artists and musicians can retain more economic interest in their works using blockchain-related business models; and

New Projects

Neferti Neferti is a proposal for a project in Hyperledger labs. Re: NEFERTI
Hyperledger labs is an open source code community with a low barrier to entry. Any and all are welcome to join and contribute to the lab. The lab maintainers will be the governors. neferti plans a low-code and highly secure implementation to issue and trade NFTs, in a protocol agnostic way. neferti code will address market place utilities for issuance and trading of NFTs. neferti implementation will allow for extensibility and openness. An initial reference Hyperledger Fabric implementation is planned.

VII. New Business

The LMDWG has submitted at least two CFP's for the Global Forum - We need to set up scheduled time during the next few months to work on them Congratulations to Madhu for winning the GBA art award

Set up Employment Series

  • Global Forum Applications
    Dates to Remember
    • CFP Notifications: Thursday, June 2, 2022
    • Schedule Announcement: Week of June 13, 2022
    • Presentation Slide Due Date: Monday, September 5, 2022
    • Event Dates: Monday, September 12 – Tuesday, September 13
    • Session Types
    • Types of Submissions:

Types

  • Hosted Discussion (approximately 60 minutes): The speaker introduces the topic, followed by a discussion with the audience. Highly interactive.
  • Demo Theater (approximately 15 minutes)
  • Panel Discussion (maximum 4 panelists & 1 moderator, approximately 60 minutes + Q&A)
  • Presentation (maximum 2 presenters, approximately 30 minutes + Q&A)
  • Ask the Expert Session (45 minutes with subject matter experts)
  • Workshop (half day or full day)

Important Notes

  • All speakers are required to adhere to our Code of Conduct. We also highly recommend that speakers take our Inclusive Speaker Orientation Course.
  • Panel submissions must include the names of all participants in the initial submission to be considered. In addition, The Linux Foundation does not accept submissions with all-male panels in an effort to increase speaker diversity.
  • Complimentary Passes For Speakers – One complimentary pass for the event will be provided per accepted speaker (and co-speaker, if required). For accepted panel discussions, up to 4 panelists, + 1 moderator will receive a complimentary event pass; additional panelists will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.
  • Avoid sales or marketing pitches when preparing your proposal; these talks are almost always rejected due to the fact that they take away from the integrity of our events, and are rarely well-received by conference attendees.
  • All accepted speakers are required to submit their slides by 3 day prior to the event.
