  1. What is your preferred community platform?
    1. Anything that is low barrier to entry for the largest number of potential contributors. Even if this ends up being a platform that is a little harder to deal with on the back-end. Our number one priority is growing the community so it's worth the effort.
  2. Where do you do the majority of your communication for work/hobby/education?
    1. The mailing list and RC in the Hyperledger context.
  3. How many different platforms do you use to communicate with DLT communities?
    1. List them?Discord, Telegram (and the HL/LF ones)

Identity

  1. Do you need to log-in to access the community you want? (Does a LFID hinder you from using the Hyperledger chat platform?)
    1. Not me, but I do suspect that it increases the barrier to entry for some first timers who would happily take 0.5 second to click on a Discord link but might not be in the mood to sign up to a brand new LFID (statistically low probability that they have an LFID)
  2. Do you prefer to share your info (for follow-up, email support, more) or remain anonymous?
    1. Happy to share.
  3. Would another authentication format entice you over the Linux Foundation ID?
    1. It's not really about the authentication format IMO, but rather if the person already has an account with a service or not (and then the preferred authentication formats derive from whatever is supported by the preferred platform that they are already a member of)
  4. What information about yourself are you comfortable sharing? What information about yourself are you NOT comfortable sharing?
    1. Name, work email, GitHub username, LinkedIn, profile pic. That's about it, assume everything else is private.

Engagement

  1. Why do you log on to the Hyperledger community platform?
    1. Chrome Desktop Browser on Ubuntu/Win 10
  2. What functionality (or level of engagement) would make you log on more to the platform?
    1. The voice channels features seems nice from Discord.
  3. Do you ever browse the chat channels other than your primary channel? If not, what is stopping you from doing so?
    1. Rarely TBH, but I do drop by other projects' channels every now and then.
  4. Do you collaborate outside of Hyperledger chat platforms to accomplish your DLT or project work?
    1. We started looking at Discord, but most of it has been the official channels such as RC, mailing list, zoom calls on the calendar, etc.

Geography

  1. Where are you located?
    1. San Francisco, CA, USA
  2. What community platforms that others may use are NOT supported in your geo or language?
    1. Everything seems to be supported here thankfully.
